Almost as soon as Sebastian's birthday was over, it was time for Nemo's first birthday! We combined the two parties, thinking that it would be efficient that way, but Nemo is apparently a child who insists on doing things in his own time.
Gwyn brought him to his cake and blew out the candles, making a wish for his future happiness.
He really seemed to enjoy his birthday party, but decided that he was going to stay our little baby for just a bit longer.
We had thought that we'd be moving on from the newborn stage by now, but Nemo was in no hurry to grow up.
I guess you could say that I was a little distracted by all of the birthday, graduation, and new dr job getting that was going on around the house, not to mention the school skipping. I was repairing the dishwasher just like I'd done a dozen times before but I jigged when I should have jogged or something and scorched myself! I'm glad that was all that happened, it wouldn't do to leave Gwyn alone with 3 kids!
Luckily, it was just Nemo and me at home when that happened. I'm sure Gwyn would have had several choice words for me about being reckless or something.
Then again, my accident apparently inspired Nemo to finally grow up a little so it's not all bad, right? He looks like me, don't you think?
I quickly showered and changed before the rest of the family got home. Gwyn was thrilled to find that Nemo was fully a toddler now and I'm pretty sure that he'll keep my secret about almost electrocuting myself while everyone else was gone.
*****************
A/N: So that was really weird. Nemo and Sebastian both had "0" days until they aged up and got the "birthday today" pop-up, but Nemo refused to age up after blowing out his candles! He even had the "had birthday" moodlet. He actually spent 2 more days at "0" days before he finally sparkled and became a toddler. So weird. My game is getting some crazy glitches lately. I might have to port the lot of them to a new town soon if this keeps up! In other news, I'm having a terrible time finding everything in the new blogger layout!
Outtakes!
Hey, Mom! I can't breathe!
During the birthday parties, I got a notice that Jagger was acting inappropriately. I went to see what he was doing and found him cleaning the toilet! I need more of that kind of "inappropriateness" around my own house!
I think Gwyn was as annoyed as I was when Nemo didn't age up.
Traffic jam in the foyer. Sims are so weird. (You can also see the dead paparazzi's urn on the floor! I didn't even know it was there until I took this picture.)

Gen 3 Chapter 31: My boy, the doctor
Ok, he's not really a doctor yet. But he's on his way!
Gwyn had a birthday just after Nemo's birth and became the most beautiful elder in town. It's weird to both of us that she's a new mom at her age, and I won't be far behind her in earning my grey hair. We still worry about what will become of the kids when we're gone, but I think they'll be ok. Mostly, anyway.
Things have actually been a little tense around our house lately. Ariel has taken to skipping school, which Gwyn was not pleased to discover.
From what I understand, Ariel didn't even pretend to leave the house after I went to work. She relied on the fact that Gwyn would be exhausted from being up with Nemo in the night. She would just make sure to be quiet and stay on the first floor of the house while Gwyn and Nemo slept upstairs.
It wasn't long before Gwyn heard her moving around down there and went to investigate. Gwyn really let Ariel have it! She and I both remember how much trouble Jagger was in his teen years and beyond and we don't want to take any chances with Ariel turning out that way.
Unfortunately, when Gwyn told me that one of the kids had skipped school...
I picked the wrong one to yell at! Poor Sebastian had no idea what I was talking about.
He tried to explain, but it was awhile before I calmed down enough to actually listen to him. I guess I got so caught up in my constant fears of one of them turning out like my brother that I couldn't think straight!
He was graduating, not skipping school! Two totally different things. I really am proud of what a good kid he is, I don't know why I flew off the handle like that. And what kind of example am I setting for my boys?
It was with all of this drama and grumpiness that we headed into Sebastian's birthday party. We invited our friends and family over, of course, so we all had to be on our best behavior.
Sebastian wasn't upset about what had happened, though. He really was in a good mood for his party and made sure that everyone had a great time and a slice of cake. I don't know what I did to deserve such a great kid.
My boy is all grown up. Gwyn and I decided to finally give in to his long-held desire to adopt a furry little friend. "Dink" is still a kitten, but he seems quiet and happy... the perfect companion for Sebastian.
Sebastian decided to forgo the graduation ceremony and headed off to get a job at the hospital straightaway. Being on the first rung of a medical career isn't the most glamorous place in the world, but I have faith in my boy. Someday, he'll be a world famous doctor!
*************
A/N: I know this is a pretty short chapter and not much happens, but I liked the fighting pics too much to not use them. Also, so many weird things were going on that I wanted to get it out of the way! I lost all of my pictures of Gwyn's birthday, which is really annoying. Just *poof* gone! I haven't had that problem in a while. I hope it goes away again! And I don't know why Sebastian got yelled at when Ariel was the one who actually skipped school. It was really weird to see Zeke yelling at him several hours after Gwyn yelled at Ariel for the same thing. Sebastian rolled the clumsy trait for his birthday... I'm not sure that's the best trait for a physician! He wished to go to graduation so I was going to send him through the ceremony, but the game glitched or something and I just kept getting the notice for graduation day after day without there ever being the option for the ceremony. I eventually gave up and just sent him to get a job.
Outtakes!
I might have taken them both a little more seriously if either of them had showered recently.
"Ahhh! Don't hit me!"
Random party guest thinks Sebastian should stop blocking the way to the cake.
Why is he changing clothes in the middle of the party? Sims are weird.
"Hey, Sebastian, shouldn't you be heading to bed soon?" "Mom! I'm not a kid anymore!"
Should have listened to your mom, Sebastian.

Town update, with bonus heir poll!
Story progression is working again (I deleted and reinstalled), so things are actually happening around town! I don't have pictures to go with these, but they are interesting nonetheless.
Bonni is now an elder and has finally found love. I apparently didn't note her boyfriend's name, but they've been together since just after Ariel's child birthday and have been loving it up all over town.
Lorali has given up on older men and is now dating Gwyn's nephew Denis. They are engaged, though Lorali is still occasionally seen around town with other men. I'm not sure if that's a glitch or a character flaw.
Jagger has been very busy. He's decided to become a thug and wanders around town beating people up. He particularly likes to beat up men involved with people he's viewed as potential romantic interests previously, like: Patience's fiancee, Maggie's husband, and one of Gwyn's sister's boyfriends! In a particularly awesome turn of events, he started dating Carol Song (if memory serves, she's crazy too). They had a very serious and tumultuous relationship and she actually asked him to marry her! They haven't made it to the alter, though, as they keep breaking up and getting back together. When they are broken up, Jagger stalks her while dating various sisters of Gwyn. It's kind of fabulous.
Patience and her boyfriend, Cale, had a son that they named Ervin. They are now planning on getting married, finally.
Adjo is still working for the police, though there have been rumors that he is on the take. Money seems to disappear when he's around, but I'm not sure if it's a robin hood thing or not. He recently broke up with his girlfriend, Raspberry, and is now being stalked by her while dating Paula Conrad.
Sunny Bluesky and her boyfriend, Hoff, are pregnant but have apparently decided to break up.
Viola Sharpe and her man, Manuel, had a son that they named Noah. They are still very much in love and decided to move in together (even though they already live together) , according to all of the pop-ups.
Sean Flynn got someone pregnant, though I can't read my own writing well enough to see who it is!
Arvid has apparently become an elder recently, which he celebrated by having a daughter with one woman and becoming a deadbeat dad. Then he moved in with one of Gwyn's sisters! Midlife crisis?
****************
Now for the big heir poll. Up to this point, I've always gone with the first-born as heir and that has worked well for my story. This time, though, I'm completely torn. I love Ariel and Sebastian so much! Nemo is a little young for me to have bonded with, but he's starting out with some interesting traits. So I'm putting it up for opinions... who should take over in the next generation? (Of course, you can't actually hold me to any decisions made by the masses or anything... but I'd love to hear what everyone thinks!)
Sebastian: genius, friendly, animal lover. LTW: World renowned surgeon.
Ariel: eccentric, athletic, inappropriate, cat-person. LTW: undecided.
Nemo: excitable, couch potato. LTW: undecided. (I've played ahead enough to see that he gets Zeke's hair and skin.)

Gen 3 Chapter 30: Finding Nemo
You know the best part about having parties around here? The food. I swear, we can eat for weeks on just party food. That buffet table we bought a few years ago has more than paid for itself, as far as I'm concerned!
I tried to convince Gwyn to eat something nutritious, but she insisted on having cake for all of her meals during this pregnancy. I guess that's a craving? Then again, birthday cake is kind of a staple around here. (A/N: note her relatively normal maternity clothes! I wonder what made her decide to wear them this time around.)
Ariel and Sebastian have been getting on as well as ever, even though they're both teens now. Ariel is showing every indication of being a very moody teen, but none of that matters when it comes to her big brother. They're the best of friends. It warms my heart.
Having two teens in the house has taken a toll on our shower, though! I find myself fixing it over and over again several times a week. I'd like to work on actually upgrading the shower, but I spend too much time repairing it!
I'd actually just finished fixing the shower and sent Gwyn in to inspect it when she went into labor! I feel kind of bad about the fact that Ariel, Sebastian, and I just went about our business downstairs while Gwyn suffered alone in the bathroom, but we honestly didn't even hear her!
I have no idea what was going through her mind... she never even let me know what was going on! Both Ariel and Sebastian were born at the hospital. But she decided to have this one at home without any help? Without even telling the rest of us that it was time? Considering how worried Gwyn has been about this pregnancy, I just don't know what she was thinking.
I suppose it could have been because this was our last baby and she wanted to just do everything on her own terms, in her own time. I'm kind of afraid to ask, what with all of the post-partum hormones floating around. Either way, she did it! Meet Nemo, our new son.
***************
A/N: It's a boy! I'm not sure why Gwyn decided to have Nemo at home when she'd gone to the hospital with the other two, but she could have picked a more convenient room to give birth in! It's very hard to get good pictures in a bathroom. The labor was pretty short, though, and the rest of the family had no idea what was going on for some reason. Also, Zeke reached level 8 of his science career, though I didn't get a picture of that. One more level and he'll fulfill his LTW! Then on to the next generation. I wonder who it will be! I'll put up an informal heir poll later this week, though that still might not make up my mind! I'm so torn.
Outtakes!
Invisible car!
Lorali (and Bonni, too) have aged into elders already... how does that work? Zeke hasn't aged up and he's their big brother!
The only cool thing about laggy games is the strange transitions! Here is mostly-invisible Gwyn in an invisible shower.
Bet you wish you'd gone to the hospital now, eh?
I didn't know that newborns got to have expressions, but little Nemo looks very worried about being born.

Gen 3 Chapter 29: Change of life
While Gwyn was very worried about being pregnant at her age, life does march on. Shortly after we found out about the new baby, it was time for Ariel's birthday. I think Gwyn was still a little shell shocked, though, and I found her in the garden, just staring into space, when the guests arrived.
I managed to talk her into changing out of her nightgown and got her to tell me what had her so worried. Turns out, it was many of the things that I was worried about. This baby was coming so late in our lives that she's worried about all of the things that could go wrong. She's also wondering how much of this child's life we will live to see. I hate the idea of leaving a young child orphaned, but I know that Sebastian and Ariel will do right by their baby sibling even if the worst should happen.
Did talking it out and sharing our fears make Gwyn feel any better? I hope so. I think we both feel a little more prepared to handle this change now, anyway.
Either way, it was Ariel's birthday party and we needed to focus on making her day a great one! To our surprise, Ariel invited a friend to the party! His name is Terrell and he's a boy. A boy. I don't know if I'm ready for that.
Surprisingly, everyone gathered around to watch Ariel blow out her candles! I wonder what my little girl wished for... I might have wished that she could stay my little girl.
I think Gwyn is happy Ariel's finally old enough for real "girl" talk, though. I hadn't really thought about the fact that Gwyn went from living with 6 of her sisters to living with just me. She's been missing that kind of girl stuff I think.
I have to say, Ariel is a lovely girl. Is it wrong of me to hope that the boys won't notice her? Gwyn says that I'm being unreasonable. She tells me that I want Ariel to find a nice boy who will treat her well. For once, Gwyn is wrong! I don't want any boy even looking at my daughter! I know what they're thinking.
************
A/N: Now that Ariel and Sebastian are both teens, I'm going to have to figure out who's going to be the heir. Now that a third baby is on the way, I suppose I should consider that kid in the running too. Hmmm.
Outtakes!
An awkward situation... Lorali with her new flame, who's Gwyn's nephew, and her (literally) old flame at Ariel's party. I can't remember the old flame's name, but he totally crashed the party!
More random maternity wear for Gwyn. At least this time it's not a bikini, I guess?
Ariel spends a little quality time with Trixi. Ariel really loves ghosts!
Ariel and Sebastian got stuck in the garden one morning on their way to breakfast. I have no idea why they went into the garden in the first place, but it took me forever to convince them to come out. I thought it was so weird that they both did it at the same time.
