Gen 4 Chapter 32: Grandpa Zeke

Having a baby around is fun! Yeti is a dear, even though she cries.

I finally decided that enough was enough with this whole marriage thing. It's now or never! I told Blu that if he didn't marry me immediately, I was never going to change out of these ugly maternity clothes.



Of course, the whole thing had been his idea in the first place so he was all for getting married. Plus, he hates people so he was happy to get out of having anyone else around for the wedding.



I'm a married woman! And a mother! How cool is that?

Wait. How did any of that even happen?



Blu and I celebrated our marriage in the best way possible... by working out together!



Meanwhile, Dad and Yeti were bonding. He spent all day in the nursery with her, snuggling her and seeing to her needs.



That night, he rocked her for hours while they both dozed. It was like he didn't want to ever put her down.



I think it's because he knew what was coming.

Eventually, he gave Yeti one last kiss and put her to bed.



Then, he was gone.







Dad has gone to be with Mom, as it should be. He never really recovered from Mom's death and was more than ready to cross over to her.

Yeti slept through the whole thing, but Blu and I are in mourning. There have been so many changes around here lately. And now it's just the three of us.



Well, four if you count Nova. She's been such a comfort. (And I refuse to count BOB... he couldn't even be bothered to grieve for Dad, supposedly his best friend?)

A/N: RIP Grandpa Zeke! This chapter made me so sad. I'm really going to miss Zeke. I went back and added it up: Zeke's been around for 79 chapters (his birth chapter was posted in September of 2011)! He was 126 when he died. But I'm really glad that he got that day with his granddaughter before it was his time to go... maybe that's what he was waiting for. Also, Blu had two marriage wishes locked in (one to get married in general and one for Ariel specifically) and Ariel had one (FINALLY!), so I made them exchange vows as soon as Ariel got back from the hospital. I then used Blu's points to change his LTW from Perfect Aquarium (which just wasn't going to happen given Ariel's aversion to water) to Superstar Athlete. I think it suits him well and he's already on that career track.

Gen 4 Chapter 31: Wedding interruptus

I miss my Mom.

I tried throwing myself into sculpting, but it just wasn't the same.

Plus, being pregnant made me hungry all the time.

And how was I supposed to have this baby surrounded by men and robots?!

I need my Mom!



BOB shorted out.

No one cared.



Blu suggested that maybe we should convert one of the extra rooms into a nursery. I think he was trying to give me a distraction. He's sweet like that. I should marry him.



Once he saw the finished project, though, I'm pretty sure that Blu thought that I'd gone completely overboard.

He kept muttering about babies not needing so much stuff.

I think it's beautiful.



Dad looks so sad these days. He tries to be excited about a new baby in the house and the wedding, but he misses Mom so much.

And we heard from Nemo that he and Kari called off their wedding. I don't know what happened there, but it didn't help any of us feel better.



I decided that we all needed to get out of the house.

It's hard to find anywhere in town that doesn't have water, though.

So we ended up at the local cat jungle. We brought Nova with us, of course. Poor kitty needed to get out of the house, too!

I like that Blu wears his shorts everywhere. My soon-to-be-husband-slash-baby-daddy is hot!



I started to think that maybe we should just exchange our rings right there, and not just so that I can call him something shorter than soon-to-be-husband-slash-baby-daddy.

It was just us and Dad and Nova. We were in a place safe from water. And there were lots of cats running around. Blu and I both love cats.

It would have been perfect.



Unfortunately... it was "time"!



We were all saddened that Mom was going to miss out on the event.

Then I went to the hospital all by myself. I hope that the rest of them can find their way home!



I wanted to name my baby something that would honor everything that my Mom believed in.

Introducing... Yeti!

A/N:The 5th generation arrives! And I didn't even have to force the issue with Ariel and Blu... I can't believe it! Yeti's rolled traits are: slob and eccentric. I don't think I've had a slob around for awhile, but I'm glad that she inherited Ariel's eccentricity. And this is the first time in this whole wishacy that we have an actual grandparent still living! Zeke is 125 now. Crazy.

I just cringe every time I see the tattoos that Ariel gave Blu. I'm torn between wanting to fix them and leaving them just the way they are.

An EPIC interruption!

So I've been thinking about doing an EPIC challenge, as some of you know. I've made a spot online for it and everything! Gen 4 Chapter 30: Goodbye Mom

Just after Blu popped the question, we heard a commotion coming from inside the house.





Dad was devastated. Considering he was so much older than Mom, we all assumed that he would go first!





Mom was pretty chill about the whole thing, though. She almost looked... happy?



I guess she was ready. She'd lived to see her first grandchild born and everything.



I didn't get a chance to tell her about my baby or that Blu and I got engaged, but I like to think that she knew. Nemo and Kari got engaged, too, so all of her kids had found love and settled down. I guess Mom was just done.



Nova took it really hard. We couldn't get her to leave Mom's urn for the longest time.



Between Nova and Blu, I'm not sure who was having the hardest time.



But I kind of think it was Blu! I had no idea that he'd bonded with my Mom so much, but I guess he must have.



Dad's heart was the brokenest, though. Like Nova, he could hardly bear to leave the room where Mom died.



I tried to console him.



After that didn't work, I tried to cheer him up by sharing the news that he was going to be a grandpa again.

A/N: The camera autozoomed to Gwyn's death seconds after Blu and Ariel finished getting engaged! I was totally expecting it to be Zeke so it was very surprising to see Gwyn floating in the kitchen. Poor Gwyn never did get to hold a grandchild like she wanted. We'll miss you Gwyn!

Zeke would like Ariel to get out of the way so that he can talk to Ariel.


The "thumbs up" is one of my favorite parts of announcing a pregnancy.


I love this... Zeke and Blu are fighting over doing the dishes while grieving for Gwyn. She spent so many "years" complaining that no one would do the dishes that I thought this was a nice tribute.

Gen 4 Chapter 29: I visited a public pool and lived to tell the tale!

After all of the excitement of a new baby, Blu was getting antsy about being around so many people so I suggested that we could go somewhere just by ourselves.



First, I made sure that Sebastian had his body back.



Blu had been wanting to go to the cemetery, so we headed there.

Suddenly, we were at the local pool! Why would we be there? I don't know. It's not where we were going. Why would I go to the pool?



I felt strong, though. Able to take on the world. And even water! I am woman! Hear me roar!



Oh! No wonder! I'm totally knocked up!



I was so happy about the baby that I didn't even mind that Blu decided to take a dip in the dangerous pool.

I didn't go in, of course, I waited out by the road. Even in my enhanced state of being, I wasn't going to be foolish and go near the water.



Eventually, Blu came back out and I was able to tell him the big news.



He looked like this.



I felt so much love for Blu that I put on my mom's maternity bikini and went near the pool with him. I still hate the water. He still loves the water. But at least we love each other!

But that's as close as I was willing to go to the pool. I think Blu appreciated the effort.



When we got home, Blu gave me a massage.



And then he did this!

A/N: So I guess Ariel really did get pregnant from one woohoo with no lullaby and no puking! As soon as she popped, Blu rolled a wish to marry her. Apparently, it was just the push that he needed! I'm sure they'll have a private wedding, considering his loner trait and his hatred of people. He hates groups almost as much as Ariel hates water.

Gwyn was booing Nemo for some reason. But then she cheered him a few seconds later.


I guess she does not approve of his sleeping choice, but still loves him?
