Gen 3 Chapter 10: Be mine

Gwyn has a boyfriend. I didn't know what to say to that, so I just let her go home. As much as I was starting to fall for her, I didn't know how to stop her from leaving after a bombshell like that. So what I did something that has always helped me figure things out in the past. I went to talk to my good friend Maggie.

Screenshot-21

She told me that I have to decide for myself how much Gwyn means to me. She told me that I should definitely pursue the relationship, no matter what, if I was truly falling in love with Gwyn. She told me that I'd regret it if I didn't. And she told me not to mess up someone's life if I wasn't serious about it.

As an added bonus, I got to meet Maggie's son, Zane! He's adorable and I think he liked me.

Screenshot-22

I thought a lot about what Maggie told me. Did it matter to me that Gwyn was involved with Sal? Did I really want to break up their relationship? Could I really see myself settling down with Gwyn? Was I falling in love with her? How had I become the "other man"?

But I think I love her. I mean, my experience is limited but all I want to do is be with her all the time. When I'm not with her, I think about the next time I see her. When I am with her, I think about ways to make our time together as great as possible. So, yeah. I think I'm in love. I want her to pick me. I want her to break up with Sal. I wanted her to be MY girlfriend.

So I invited her to the beach to talk. She explained that she'd been with Sal far longer than she should have been. They'd been living separate lives for months (as evidenced by all the time she'd spent with me!) and she just hadn't had incentive to break up with him before.

Screenshot-5

I asked her what she wanted. Me or him? Would she break up with Sal for me? And she did! She picked me! I fear that I've made an enemy of Sal, but she is more than worth it.

Screenshot-7

And that's how Gwyn became my girlfriend.

Screenshot-11

I even invited her over to meet the family. Mom was thrilled, of course, as she has wanted me to settle down for a while now. She and Gwyn seemed to hit it off pretty well, though, and spent a lot of time chatting. I'm hoping that Mom's SuperSpy status and Gwyn's military service will give them enough in common so that I'm not a constant topic of conversation.

Screenshot-18

I've seen Gwyn pretty much every day this week. I decided to take her back to the place we met one evening. She loves the water and I love to see her happy. I also love it when she shows her appreciation.

Screenshot-55

The pool at night is a great way to get to know each other... and things get very interesting at night.

Let's just say that I didn't regret forgetting my swim suit one bit!

Screenshot-100

It was such a great time that we decided to visit the pool again a couple of days later. This time, we watched the stars instead of taking a dip. Though that might have had something to do with all of the people around!

Screenshot-94

Honestly, as long as we're together I don't really care what we do.

A/N: Zeke kept wishing to see Gwyn and date her. I finally had him ask her to break up with Sal so that they could move on. Once that was done, he immediately wished to ask her to be his girlfriend so that's where they are. No marriage or baby wishes yet, though. Not even a woo-hoo. But I keep hoping.

Outtakes!

When I started the game up after Hubby installed the new expansion packs, I found everyone skipping work and hanging around the loading dock. Random!

This new maid doesn't seem to be evil, but she is very odd. Here she is making the bed while Zeke is still sleeping in it!
Screenshot-12

And here she is passed out on the floor. I don't know why she didn't go to bed!

Zeke carries on the family tradition of playing guitar in the bathroom. Must be the acoustics.

Gen 3 Chapter 9: Love is in the air?

I needed a break from the family stuff. I was really tired of dealing with Jagger and all of that drama. So on my next day off I invited Gwyn over. (Conveniently, Mom and my sisters were out of the house. Who knows where Jagger was.)

I was pleasantly surprised that Maggie decided to stop by, too! She hasn't been feeling too well lately and had missed some work. She went to a doctor and found out that she was expecting her first child! She and her husband must be thrilled. I couldn't stop myself from talking to her tummy myself, though afterwards it occurred to me that Gwyn might think that I was weird for doing that.

Screenshot-68

Then again, she did run away or anything. We had a fantastic time just talking and getting to know each other better after Maggie left. I know that Gwyn worries that we might not be completely compatible, but I just can't think about those things when I look into her eyes!

Screenshot-65

Too soon, we both had to head off to work. After I was done at the lab, I headed to town to work on my guitar skills and grab a bite to eat but I couldn't get her off of my mind. I couldn't wait to see her again so I called as soon as her shift was over and asked her to join me at the beach. I told her that I wanted to show her how bright the stars are away from the lights in town... but the truth is that I was trying to work up the nerve to kiss her.

Screenshot-85

Isn't she cute in her uniform? Maybe I should have brought her candy or flowers or something. Girls like that kind of thing, right? I should have asked Mom or one of my sisters for advice, I suppose, but they never would have let me live it down!

Screenshot-87

In the end, though, it all worked out. I took a chance, she was receptive, and I never wanted the kiss to end. I suppose it didn't hurt that we're both pretty good kissers! The beach may well become my favorite place in town after this.

Screenshot-88

Things were going so well that I invited her over to our house for a late night snack. I noticed that she was getting quieter and quieter as the night went on but I thought she was just getting tired. Then she told me about Sal. Her boyfriend.

Screenshot-96

At least Mom and Dad are still blissfully in love with each other.

*************
A/N: Bonus chapter this week since I've got it ready! Zeke keeps rolling wishes to see Gwyn... kiss her, make out, hang out, chat. And then I decide to check on whether she's single or not! I can't believe he's been romancing  a girl who's already got a boyfriend! I'm not sure where this relationship is going anyway. There's some trait messing up compatibility (I forgot to write it down and I can't remember which one), but I guess I'll see how it plays out!

Also, story progression isn't giving me any updates anymore... it tells me that there are updates but doesn't tell me what they are. Anyone have any idea of why? We installed Pets and Ambitions and the game wants to update with the latest patch, but errors out on that. I figure it must be one of those things.

Outtakes, togetherness edition!

Gen 3 Chapter 8: Evil sibling is annoying

I think Mom might be back to herself again. She hasn't been doing anything weird and we even had a great conversation about that girl, Gwyn, that I met. Mom can't wait to meet her... though I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

Screenshot-77

Unfortunately, Jagger is still skipping school regularly. He also hasn't done his homework in what seems like weeks. He shows no remorse for any of it, just wanders around town laughing and hanging out with other delinquents.

Screenshot-79

I mean, really... how is he going to ever amount to anything, much less become a scientist like me, when he spends his days like this!

Screenshot-70

I really can't deal with him alone. I'm not home enough to keep as close of an eye on him as he obviously needs. Mom is still being called into work at all hours of the day and night, too. I've enlisted Bonni and Lorali to help keep tabs on Jagger. We're all working full time, but at least it's more eyes on him.

Screenshot-71

Lorali usually takes the outside watch, working in the garden gives her an excellent excuse to be watching Jagger's comings and goings.

Screenshot-74

Mom has also taken up "chatting" on the computer right next to the front door. We can at least make it more difficult for him to sneak out (or sneak back in during school hours).

Screenshot-80

And I get the job of yelling at him. Pretty much every day, there's something or other that he's done that requires scolding.

Screenshot-92

********************
A/N: This is a short one, but I'm still getting back into the swing of playing and blogging! Hubby used some of our Christmas money to buy me Ambitions and Pets, though, so I'll be getting into all kinds of new things with my Sims! I can't wait!

Outtakes!

Bonni is shocked by Lorali's table manners.

Zeke put Jagger in a time out!

Gen 3 Chapter 7: OblaDi

I still can't believe that Dad's gone! It feels as if months have gone by and, yet, it's only been a couple of days. I think about him all the time. I've tried to keep up with the activities that usually give me serenity, but he's always on my mind.

Screenshot-4

I worry about Mom even more, though. She was practically destroyed by his death! She has this far away stare thing that she does now and I know she's thinking about Dad. She cries all of the time.

Screenshot-7

The only one who seems mostly unaffected is Jagger. I swear, sometimes I don't get that kid at all.

Screenshot-13

I was thrilled when Mom went back to painting the other day. I had hoped that it would bring her peace.

Screenshot-20

But then she started acting completely out of her mind. We'd finally gotten rid of the evil butler and Mom went and hired a new one! So far, Wendy doesn't seem to be out to destroy us, but I'm still not sure what Mom was thinking taking the risk again!

Screenshot-21

Then I found her running around in the garden. Playing in the sprinklers. In the middle of the night. In her nightgown.

Screenshot-37

Eventually, she passed out on the floor of the cottage, but I don't really know what to do with her. What if her sanity never returns?

Screenshot-41

Then again, we all handle grief differently, right? The girls have been throwing themselves into their work at the lab, keeping themselves busy and mostly trying not to think too hard. I couldn't even really celebrate my latest promotion...

Screenshot-24

And Jagger has taken up vandalism and skipping school. I'm kind of glad that Dad didn't live to see the man that I think Jagger is becoming! I wish that I could count on Mom to take care of it, but I suppose he's my responsibility.

Screenshot-44

Not that he listens to me, anyway. I spent over an hour trying to talk to him yesterday and he refused to even open the door! There is no way that I was this bad when I was a teenager.

Screenshot-33

I decided that it was time for the rest of us to get out of the house. We all needed a break from the memories and teen drama. We took a nice trip to the park. Mom and I played some music, Bonni danced, Lorali played chess... it was so completely normal!

Screenshot-29

I ran into one of my good friends from work, Maggie. She was nice enough to stay out late listening to my problems and giving me advice about how to handle things. She's happily married so there's no pressure to impress her or be a certain way, I can be myself and tell her anything.

Screenshot-45

Maggie always makes my feel better.

Screenshot-47

In fact, I felt so much better after our talk that I decided to skip going home altogether! Surely they can handle an evening by themselves and I've been exhausted trying to take care of everyone and everything!

Screenshot-48

The next morning, I felt totally refreshed! I really didn't want to go home and lose the feeling, so I headed off to the pool to take a quick shower before grabbing some breakfast at the diner. There, I met a girl! Her name is Gwynesy and she and her sisters just moved into town. I've seen them around (they kind of stand out), but never really talked to them before.

Screenshot-55

I was having so much fun, that I completely missed Mom's birthday! I think she'll forgive me, though. She's the one who keeps worrying that I'm not getting out enough!

Screenshot-61

*****************
A/N: So that was a much longer break than I was anticipating taking... but I think I'm back to it now. I should have everything figured out, more or less.

I really did forget half of what happened the last time I played, it's been so long! Zeke rolled a couple of social wishes, though, so there's hope for the next generation! I think he also got 2 promotions, but I can't remember the order of things.

Outtakes!

Neli's "ugly cry":

Jagger isn't all bad, is he?

Bonni passed out at work. Grief is annoying.

Lorali passed out just as she got home. It's been rough around here!

Nice to see Kevin up and about! He always did like the bathroom.
