Gen 1 Chapter 8: Married life (Who is this person in my house?)

Trixi here!

Wow, so much has happened lately that I hardly know where to start... I'm a married woman! I decided against having a big wedding. I didn't need it and neither did VJ. We had a private wedding on my (our!) back deck, overlooking the ocean.

It was simple and quick and perfect. Kind of like our courtship and engagement!

I'm so excited to have VJ here with me now. He's so sweet, I can't wait to learn everything about him.

Right after the wedding, I wanted to take VJ inside and have my way with him. Unfortunately, I had to go to work instead. Again. Of course.

Inspired by my "art", VJ decided to try his hand at painting while I was at work. He even took a class at the art institute!

I may be a bit biased, but I think he shows real promise!

He also started working out. I can't help but be impressed by his athleticism since I spend most of my free time cooking or reading.

He was still at it when I got home from work so I sat down to read while I waited for him to finish. He was really in a zone, but I started to wonder if there wasn't something on his mind.

As it turns out, he was contemplating a career change and was a little worried about how to approach me about it. He life's dream, apparently, is to become Emperor of Evil! I have to admit, I was a little thrown to learn that the love of my life was evil! Snobby, childish and inappropriate I can deal with, but evil?

VJ is going to quit his job at the book store and become a criminal. It sounds scary and dangerous to me, but I'm doing my best to be supportive. Being the wife of an Emperor can't be all bad, right?

Besides, it's my wedding night and we were ready to make the most of it!

The next morning, I told VJ that I would support him, whatever he wanted to do. It's kind of exciting actually, now that I think about it. I guess there's just something about a "bad boy". And it should give me a lot of ideas to write about!

Speaking of writing, I really should get to work on that romance novel I started! I've hardly made any progress at all with all of the excitement going on.

We had a run of bad luck in the house... I wonder if it has anything to do with the new "evil influence" around here! First, the shower broke.

Then, the toilet broke.

Then, the both the dishwasher and the kitchen sink broke!

It was then that we gave up... we didn't feel like having them repaired and it was getting a little soggy (and ridiculous) around here so I used my bonus from my promotion (as well as the raise I earned tweaking one of the recipes and learning to make cookies) to replace everything.

Otherwise, VJ and I were really enjoying married life! We couldn't get enough of each other, of course, being in the newlywed phase of our relationship. But we had a lot of fun outside of the bedroom, too! We especially enjoyed playing tag in the middle of the night.

My favorite moments, though, are the simple, quiet ones. The times when we just chat about books or life or our jobs. VJ is working as a criminal decoy now, which doesn't sound very glamorous but is actually quite interesting.

Criminal mastermind or no, VJ still loves to dance. Here he is demonstrating his "evil moves"!

I still love to read, though. And I love a little alone time. I'm just not as gregarious as VJ is!

Speaking of my party animal husband, he decided that we just had to throw a party to celebrate our marriage. I guess the wedding part wasn't important to him, but he missed having a reception. We invited all of our friends over on our day off.

I was so happy to see VJ and Simis getting along! Simis is my oldest friend and I loved seeing him.

Of course, not everyone gets along well with VJ (not even his friends!). I guess that's the price you pay for being evil.

Still, the party was a lot of fun! I spent some time getting to know VJ's best friend, Christopher.

VJ and I got our groove on.

And VJ and Christopher got to do a lot of catching up.

I excused myself to work on my latest painting and give them some "guy time". I get so much peace from writing and painting. I really hope I can make enough in royalties to make a living at it soon.

Being married is a lot busier than I thought it would be, but I think having my life shaken up a little is a good thing!

A/N: I had suspected that VJ was evil, so it was nice to know for sure once he joined the household. They roll wishes to Woo-hoo all the time, but no baby wishes yet. VJ does want to steal candy from a baby though... does that count? :-)

Happy Mother's Day!

Gen 1 Chapter 7: Love is in the air

Trixi here!

Last time I wrote, I was in the middle of my first "adult" sleep over! VJ and I are just friends, of course, but it was nice to have someone to cuddle with after all of the fire and trauma of my birthday.

In the morning, I made breakfast for VJ... I might have been showing off my cooking skills just a little. It's the first time I've cooked for anyone (except for the little bit I get to do at the diner) and I wanted to make a special breakfast. VJ said it was delicious!

After breakfast, we did some dancing. VJ is apparently quite a dancer (I suspect he may also be a party animal) and he was more than happy to teach me a few moves!

It was so much fun!

I really wished VJ and I could just spend the whole day together, but I had to go to work. I suppose it was good that I went, as much as I missed VJ. My boss gave me a special assignment to learn how to make fish and chips. I hope I can get promoted soon!

I went straight out after work and memorized the fish and chips recipe. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to handle it. I'm improving my cooking skills every day!

Having completed my work assignment, I could call VJ to chat without feeling guilty. I couldn't wait to see him again.

To calm my nerves after talking to VJ, I did some reading.. I think we're really close to being good friends and I'm so worried that I might mess that up! I haven't had the best luck making friends.

He came over bright and early the next morning. We talked about books and family. He told me a funny story and I complained about the fire. I have to admit that I might have even flirted a little...

And then it happened, we became good friends! I couldn't believe that I had my very first official "good friend"!

I felt an overwhelming urge to take things a step further. I guess I was feeling a little brave or something, but I stepped forward and kissed VJ!

I guess he liked it because he grabbed me and returned the favor!

I think we both felt it... this was it, we were destined to be together. I made the easiest decision of my life, I proposed right then and there.

VJ happily accepted and I was so excited that I couldn't contain myself!

Unfortunately, there wasn't time for a real celebration as I had to go to work. Again. This job really gets in the way sometimes! While I was there, a fight broke out between two of my co-workers. I couldn't just stand by and watch them beat on each other so I jumped in to break it up. Between that act of bravery and my mastery of the fish and chips recipe, Jared-the-Jerk had no choice but to promote me! I'm now a Line Cook!

It had been such an exciting day that I decided to do some nice, calm painting once I got home. I finished one and then started a new one right away. I've been neglecting my painting too much lately and set myself a personal goal of improving my skills.

I went to bed that night and dreamed of weddings.

My peace of mind didn't last long, though, as I was woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of my burglar alarm! (I'm glad that the previous owner had the foresight to install one.)

Apparently, the burglar didn't expect all that noise, either!

The cop showed up and took care of the criminal quickly. I couldn't help but laugh at the poor crook!

The cop checked around, but didn't see anything else out of place. I'm so glad that everything worked out so well!

I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

A/N: Yeah! There's hope for the next generation after all!

Gen 1 Chapter 6: Birthday disaster

Trixi here!

It's my birthday! I'm officially moving into real adulthood now so I guess it's time to take stock and get serious. Or so I hear. But first, I'm going to have some cake!

I didn't want a big fuss made over my birthday so I decided to just have cake by myself. I made a wish (or two or three or four) and blew out the candles.

And then it happened... my house caught on fire!

I stood there in shock as the fire grew. Eventually, I was able to get it together enough to call the fire department.

They were on their way so there was nothing for me to do but watch in panic as the fire got bigger.

And bigger!

Eventually Adam the firefighter showed up to battle the fire and save my house. My hero!

The dining set was, unfortunately, a complete loss. And I didn't even get to have any cake!

I chatted with Adam a bit after the fire was out, but he was kind of boring when he wasn't being all fire-fighty so I wandered off to take a shower. I didn't even say goodbye or see him out. I guess I might have still been in shock a little, too.

Hoping to salvage my birthday, I decided to finish "Bite Me" and send it off to the publisher. The reviews aren't quite as good as they were for "Clipped Armor" but what else would you expect from a trashy novel! I think I might try my hand at Romance now that I have a (very) little experience in the matter. I'm going to call it "Ithaca to Chicago".

After I finished writing, I sat down to read a little. I suddenly realized that I had never actually finished my birthday due to the flaming interruption! So now I'm officially an adult.

Growing older gave me some needed confidence so I invited VJ over. I had hoped to see him sooner, but his work schedule kept getting in the way. I think we're close to being good friends.

I was really happy that he made it over. So many people seem to get lost on the way to my house for some reason.

We chatted for awhile, but we were both pretty sleepy. He was exhausted from working and I think the excitement of the fire was starting to catch up with me. Neither of us was ready to say good bye, though, so I did something crazy. I invited him to sleep over! And he agreed!

I can't believe I'm having a slumber party for my birthday.

**************
A/N: I bent the rules just a bit and invited VJ to stay without a wish. She's still wishing to be "good friends" with him, though, so I'm justifying it as working toward that goal. The truth is that I'm afraid to let him go home now that he's actually made it into the house! There seems to be some kind of black hole/Bermuda triangle thing going on here. She actually wanted to have a party so I invited a few of her friends and no one showed up! I even got the pop up that said guests were starting to arrive, but... nothing! It's like when Dustin disappeared all over again. At least this way, I know they'll be able to work on their friendship before they have to go to work.
